Dual purpose Bracchi Italiani bred with their future in mind and their history at Heart
Nuala greets her Great Granddaughter
On the 11th May our beautiful Elsa, Bonario Elsha, produced a much awaited litter of 3 girls by our Reuben, Bocia del Bonario. An AI litter it was new undertaking for us but with such an amazing pedigree it was important for us to have his pups, to incorporate his lines into our breeding. The girls made the decision on which one to keep really difficult but a cetain very orange young lady is staying - Bonario Galatea or Kiva to her friends.
Very sadly we had to say goodbye to two of our canine family in June. Cully and Milo had both been unwell for sometime, they were given their wings on the same day and we miss them. Cully was always very vocal especially at meal time, the house is quiet without her. She was the dog that convinced me to enter the working world and was a stalwart of our shoot. And Milo, well he was just a big soft lump who thouroughly enjoyed life's comforts and had a real eye for the ladies. He leaves a legacy of some cracking working dogs and some show progeny too. Kiva is his granddaughter so his memory will carry on here.
A couple of quiet years for us, family health and life in general has meant we have not been as active as in the past. Pete and I took a trip to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and where else would we go but a canine event. We travelled down to near Toulouse, in France, to attend the Centenary of the the Braque Francais Club. There Wren gained a CAC and her TAN and Elsa a RCAC and her TAN. Not bad for a brief return to the showring!
The trip was tinged with saddness though as we lost Sorcha while we were away. RIP Squidge.
Fi produced a litter of 8 on the 1st June, 5 girls & 3 boys. Mum and pups all well.
Puppies due 31st May from It Sh Ch, It FT Ch, Int Sh Ch, Ch Assol, Tar & Bonario Cinnabar (Fi). Continuing our aim of introducing new blood to the UK and to produce truly dual purpose Bracchi Italiani.
Breeder of Top working Bracco 2016 our sixth consecutive year.
Breeder of the Top Working Bracco for 2015, five consecutive years at the top!
Puppies from Milo & Fi arrived on the 3rd of June, 8 bitches and 1 dog! Pedigree This is a combination we have been working towards. 3/4's Italian the pups will hopefully inherit the working ability of their famous Grandfathers also their breed type. We strive to maintain the dual-purpose Bracco ensuring our dogs remain true to their Italian history. Serious puppy enquiries welcome.
Crufts '15 Although Cully was entered we decided to only take Bentley, he gained a first place in the breed and a third in the BASC team event. Two days later, with the Braque d' Auvergne Club he achieved his TAN, a natural ability test run by French gundog breeds. Also a very creditable run in the Spring Pointing Test run at the same event.
On the 29th September we lost Reuben, at only two years old, it was to say the least heartbreaking. He had such an enormous personality that the house seems very empty without him. RIP Reuby Doo.
Bentley is proud to announce that he passed his Working Gundog Certificate with flying colours! Thank you to the GSPC South West Branch, Howard Kirby and Sheila Kuban our examiner.

I have decided to cut right back on shows attended, only entering under judges I feel will assess fairly and with breed knowledge. At Crufts we made the decision to promote the breed in the working gundog classes, this to show the Bracco is truly dual-purpose.
